I need prayer for God’s intervention. I went through an incredibly abusive and destructive divorce with a narcissist who used the system to cause additional damage and ruin to my life. I was a SAHM and had no way to pay for an attorney. I believed by the grace of God that one had been sent to me, as this gentleman knew a friend of mine and her husband. He knew I had no money and would never have money enough to pay the fees that would be incurred during our case (family trust, lying, manipulation of funds, etc.). He told me he knew this and knew I would never be able to pay and his intent was to take the case pro bono. He told me to sign the documents for payment as a technicality, but I would not be billed. He died about 6 months (maybe less) later. The assistant attorney that sat in the meeting heard him and knew what he said was true. Now in the years after the additional financial abuse my ex inflicted and after disappearing from our son’s life, the firm is demanding I pay them $51k plus for attorney’s fees. I don’t have, nor will I ever have that amount of money to pay them. They are threatening me and I need them to stop. Please pray something changes and they show compassion
