When the apostle Paul went to the small town of Berea (Acts 17:10), located about 70 kilometers (43 miles) southwest of Thessalonica. Berea still exists as a small city of about 50,000 people and is called Veroia today. The journey from Thessalonica to Berea would have taken two days on foot (according to Wikipedia). He preached to them yet they refused to believe him until they themselves had matched what he said to existing scripture. Was he upset? No! He praised them for trusting scripture over himself (Paul). Please pray that every single Christian learns to listen to God over man. Jesus is Lord.
