Need prayers for my relationship with my 13 going on 18 year old son. He’s highly disrespectful to me. He never calls me mom only by my real name and he doesn’t understand why thats being disrespectful. He never tells me where he’s going he just takes off on his bike never checks in and I have to go out looking for him, he rarely comes home before dark. Anytime he speaks to me its with anger. The only time he speaks to me with kindness is when he wants something from me like money or me to buy him a video game etc. Which I rarely do because of the way he acts and I always tell him why not. I let him go on a church camping trip that lasted a week and his attitude is now way worse than before the trip. Sometimes I’ll lock up his bike for punishment (which i rarely do anymore because it accomplishes nothing) and that only angers him even more and my mom backs him saying im the one with the problem. He tells me I’m the one with the problem and my parents isn’t a support group I have no one as a single mom. Im at a huge loss and feel like giving up because of not knowing what else to do.
