I need a new contractor that will ACTUALLY do the work he was hired to do. Paid a contractor named Tony to install a heating unit that is not working. He claimed the unit was new but after a month of it sitting there and him not returning to bring the part needed to MAKE IT WORK, I called in a second company to perform diagnostic. They told me the wires on the unit were cut and the gas valve was off and the unit was not properly connected to the wall etc. When confronted with this, Tony admitted that he cut the wires trying to do what he called a “work around” and he further admitted that the unit had been previously sold returned and he bought it at a discounted price AFTER he was told the previous owner probably did something to the unit. He never said any of this before yesterday. So now 1500.00 is tied up in a non-working unit that can probably NOT BE returned since he cut the wires. I do not want him to do any more work for me. I want to cut the losses and move on but I want the unit returned, cost of unit refunded and his labor cost reimbursed
